In this session we will have the opportunity to think about the types of students we will be working with the classroom of the future. Write (on an index card) a description of students in 2015 -- what the classroom will look like, what the students will be like, student expectations, etc. Then we will view a PowerPoint presentation on the digital generation.
After viewing the presentation, we discuss what was written on the index cards and discuss similarities with the ppt presentation.
Uaing MS Templates/GLC Templates site:
After reviewing the project description we will to discuss the types of materials teachers might need to create in the preparation of a classroom. Students will be asked to share experiences using templates prior to this project. Students are to download a sample certificate template from the GLC Templates site (listed on the project description page). Then we will discuss how to changes to the template, with a focus on the drawing toolbar.
**Please note that there are 2 separate template websites provided by Microsoft (listed on the project description page): one for PCs and one for Macs. Macintosh computers cannot download templates from the PC site - but once they have been downloaded on a PC, they can be opened and customized on a Mac.
